BSP PIPE THREADS SIZE CHART
By measuring the overall diameter of the pipe fitting including the thread as shown, the table below helps to identify the correct BSP thread size of the pipe fitting. BRONZE CC491K
BRASS CW617N, CC753S & CC754S
Brass alloy material is commonly used to manufacture a wide range of fittings and is a relatively strong low-cost material. Brass should only be used in fuel and freshwater applications and should not be fitted to convey contaminated wastewater, brackish or seawater. Brass fittings used in an aggressive electrolytic environment may suffer dezincification potentially causing the fitting to crack and fail.
There are various types of bronze material used in manufacturing. Our bronze plumbing products have a high resistance to salt water and can be used above and below the waterline. These can be used to convey wastewater, brackish or salt water.
Alloy: CC491K CuSn5Zn5Pb5
Dezincification resistant (CR) brass has a much higher resistance to seawater corrosion than standard brass and is commonly referred to as DZR brass. These fittings can be identified by the CR stamped or cast onto the fitting, valve or strainer. DZR brass can be used above or below the waterline and can be used to convey wastewater, brackish or seawater. DZR DEZINCIFICATION RESISTANT (CR) BRASS CW602N & CB770S

Note: It is good practice to use the same metal material where parts are connected that are in contact with or conveying a highly conductive electrolyte such a seawater. The installer may also consider bonding the below waterline plumbing installation to a sacrificial anode to protect against galvanic corrosion. Where possible, use the same parts as originally fitted by the boat builder.
