Flexible Engine Mount Guide
Dimension ‘B’ measures the OD of the thread.
Weight on each rear mount= W x a 2 x (A + B) Weight on each Front mount= W x b 2 x (A + B)

Working Out A Taper
1. Subtract dia (a) from dia (b) 2. Divide dim © by answer to 1 3. Taper is therefore answer to (2):1 E.g (a) = 0.75” (b) = 1” (c) = 2/5” Example (b) 1”- (a) ¾” = 0.25 (c) 2.5 divided by 0.25 = 10 1 in 10 is standard Metric Taper 1 in 12 is standard Imperial Taper

Engine model and number of cylinders Model of gearbox and reduction ratio Total weight of engine and gearbox
• Is the flywheel in the conventional place between the engine and the gearbox? • Position of the engine mountings • Find the centre of gravity (balance point). If you cannot find the centre of gravity, then you may wish to assume that the weight distribution is 60% on the rear flexible mountings and 40% on the front flexible mountings, if the rear mounting is in line with the flywheel Please contact us if you require any help with the correct selection for your application.
