All types of automotive refinish materials are influenced to some extent by temperature and humidity, but it is common knowledge that waterborne basecoats are far more sensitive to climatic changes than solvent basecoats. Variations in humidity will not only adversely affect waterborne performance but can also result in significant colour drift as well. DeVilbiss Intelligent Atomisation technology provides the flexibility that enables the professional refinisher to make performance changes with his existing i-system Pro spray gun, simply by changing the air cap. If fine tuning is required, the fluid tip can also be changed with no need to change the needle. This quick, simple and economical change means that the replacement air cap provides the change in air flow required to provide a wetter or drier spray pattern, depending on air cap selected. The higher the air flow, the drier the spray pattern, the lower the flow, the wetter it is.
