Did you know? Due to the constant communication and power draw (even with engine-off) from various vehicle systems, a suitable battery support device for modern vehicles must be able to communicate with the battery and adjust its output dynamically to match the battery’s modulation in response to the vehicle electronics.

The three battery support functions are:

Diagnostic Support during engine off/ignition on operations, as a back-up power source maintaining top-up power and delivering increased power on demand, in response to intermittent demand spikes from the vehicle electronics.

Charging as a power source to replenish the battery’s reserve power.

Starting as a back-up power source delivering a large amount of current in a short time to crank an engine.

Diagnostic Support

1. Engine off, Ignition on operations include: • Operating power windows/seats/ tailgates/lights/aircon… • Checking fluid levels • Testing components • Recalibrating ADAS systems
