Standard Body Filler Process for Dents

The standard process…

• Reduces number of pin-holes left in the body filler

• Apply to panel

• Cover the complete area

• These pin-holes have to be filled

• Squeeze out air bubbles in process

• The temperature of the body filler will be the same as the bodyshop temperature

• Fillers cure in 15 – 25 mins

• Speed the cure by adding heat

• Peroxide is the catalyst: as it cures generates heat & goes hard

• Infra-red is best

The standard process cont.…

• Take the stickiness out of the cured surface

• Apply to panel to show imperfections before primer

• Stops abrasive strip clogs

• Coats surface with black carbon

• Prevents re-work

• Strip used with dust extraction block

• To fill the dent

• Takes 2-3 applications on a large repair of body filler to realise

• Achieve the correct profile of the undamaged panel
