Garage Support Newsletter 6 2021

A message from our CEO

After 18 months of doom and gloom, things are certainly starting to look up – finally! And whilst at the time of writing Covid cases are still quite high, restrictions in some areas of the country are starting to ease, and the vaccine programme continues to gain pace. In the most recent updates from each of the home nation governments, the take home message has been very much around our own social responsibility and making the right choices, even as things like mask wearing and social distancing become optional in some areas. As I’m sure you will have seen in all of our communication throughout the pandemic, our priority has always been on the safety of our customers and our team members, and that’s not something that will be changing any time soon.

We’ve been incredibly proud of how our team have come together (albeit very far apart for safety reasons!) to continue to support you. At times, you might have thought us a little over cautious, but our main goal has been to keep our customers moving, even at the worst of times. But positive change is coming. In this issue, you’ll see some fantastic content around how to get yourself set up for success and really tap into the MOT wave now upon us. There’s an abundance of opportunity out there, thanks to the shift in the usual MOT demand calendar and the repair needs of those vehicles that have sat stationary for long periods of time over the last year or so.

Alongside that, many of us will be taking holidays in this country this summer while there’s still uncertainty around international travel, so offering safety checks to your customers before they head off and testing sometimes overlooked things like batteries, bulbs and wipers while those cars are on the ramp, are all things we can support you with. Read on to find out more about what we can offer to help you in these areas. For the time being, we’ll be retaining many of our safety measures in our branches, until we know it’s safer to reduce and remove them entirely. So if you do visit us at a branch, you’ll see our

recommendations around face masks, social distancing and limited capacity while you’re with us. Our teams will continue to respect your own safety guidance if they are making visiting you at your sites too. Wishing you a safe and sunny summer.
