Equip technicians with the knowledge and skills to safely work around, maintain and repair electric/hybrid vehicles (EV/HEV). Provide Level 2 capability for routine maintenance (non-high voltage work) and Level 3 capability for repair/replacement of high-voltage systems. Enhance safety awareness, diagnostic capability and confidence when working on EV/HEV systems. Support progression into advanced diagnostics or specialist high-voltage roles.

This Level 4 qualification is designed for experienced automotive technicians who are already working in the EV or hybrid vehicle sector and wish to deepen their understanding of high-voltage systems. It provides the knowledge and practical skills required to diagnose, test, and repair complex faults in electric and hybrid vehicles, including live high-voltage systems and components. Learners will gain advanced technical knowledge of vehicle drive systems, battery management, inverter/converter systems, and energy regeneration, while emphasizing safety procedures and compliance with current regulations.
