Since 2017 automatic vehicles have overtaken manual gearboxes and these vehicles will now be more prominent in your workshops. We work with ZF and LUK to offer you the best training to keep your techs up to date with the right information direct from the people that make these systems.

Why is Hybrid and Electric Vehicle training important for your garage? Hybrid and electric vehicles are at the forefront of many car manufacturers’ agendas. ■ Most recently Nissan announced their €1billion investment into a new battery factory which has the potential to produce batteries for 100,000 electric vehicles each year

■ Volvo has committed to making its entire model line-up fully electric by 2030 ■ Ford promised that 100 percent of their passenger vehicle range in ope will be zero emissions, all-electric or plug-in hybrid by 2026 and will be completely all-electric by 2030 That is a lot of potential custom for your garage but are your technicians trained to deal with the new technology?

Only 5% of UK technicians are trained to work on hybrid and electric vehicles safely.

ZF Automatic Transmission Level 1

This course is aimed at garage technicians / mechanics for Car and Light Commercial Vehicles applications. The course covers the key aspects of automatic transmission operation and covers servicing requirements for ZF Automatic transmissions. On completion of the course the candidate will have knowledge of how an automatic transmission operates, including torque converter operation and parts identification.

Level 2 and 3 award in hybrid electric vehicle routine maintenance activities, system repair and replacement Other subjects covered include high voltage air conditioning compressors, DC-DC converters, PTC heater assemblies along with high pressure hydraulic braking systems and the management between conventional braking and regeneration braking balance.

Level 4 award in the diagnosis testing and repair of electric/hybrid vehicles and components Level 4 provides further understanding of HV battery management for both nickel metal hybrid and lithium ion batteries, the operation and control of inverters/ converters and the methods to control three phase synchronous brushless drive motors/generators.
