NEWS FROM IRELAND

December 2023

A NOTE FROM PETE

As we head closer towards the festive period and the end of 2023 I wanted to take the opportunity to update you all on some of our journey so far. It’s fair to say it’s been an interesting, challenging but very rewarding personal journey and one that’s been incredibly fulfilling and insightful.

• You said “Our vans are old and breaking down, they still carry the old branding or no branding at all on the costly hire vans”. We did earlier this year introduced a new fleet. Our new fleet has been landing in branch through the year, with the old and hired fleet removed. So far, we’ve delivered 61 new vans, with 33 more due by the end of 2023 and the remaining 10 in January. You’ll see another 10 large transit type vans delivered before the end of the 1st QTR. • You said “Our teams lack the same support and don’t hear the same messages and updates the UK teams enjoy”. We did introduce a bespoke bi-monthly newsletter covering Country-wide updates, weekly business updates with the Regional teams covering everything your teams need to know for the week ahead. We introduced BM development days; Regional Playbook build days, product knowledge sessions and sales training for our Branch teams. Giving our teams the skills to give a greater customer experience, win more business and earn more bonus. • You said “There’s a lack of community spirit”. We did launch our community support fund encouraging every Branch team to nominate a local charity or group to support. It was great to see Team Ireland join the UK team in climbing the 5 highest peaks of the 5 countries the North Division spans, to support the people of Ukraine and closer to home Pieta House. These are just a sample of our key achievements, I know there’s been a lot of improvement locally and regionally too. The Irish business is in great shape, thanks to the work of our wonderful colleagues. We have lots of exciting things happening in the coming months and we’ll continue to invest in you and the business. We can’t get too comfortable just yet, we are very aware of the quick changing macro environment that we compete within, and we need to continue to adapt to challenges over the medium to long term. It’s clear we are evolving and will continue to do so with your support, ensuring our colleagues and customers are at the heart of our future. Enjoy the newsletter and let us know what you think and what you want to hear more of. Finally - On behalf of the entire Ireland Divisional team I hope you all have a fantastic December and I hope it’s not too early to wish you all and your families and loved ones a very happy and safe Christmas and a very prosperous and winning 2024.

One of the first things I did when I welcomed Ireland into the North Division was to speak with Matt, Paul and David and get their insights on where our strengths and opportunities sat. Where, with focus and energy and investment, could we find our greatest wins both for our Teams and for our customers. I still regularly use their original feedback as a sense check of our progress. Here is just a few of what has been achieved in a relatively short space of time; • You said “We need better stock, and a stock profile aligned to the Irish car parc”. We did launch Project Everest which will, thanks to your hard work, will be complete in all branches by the end of the year. Our aim was to rationalise the many brands and make sure where possible there was a good and best option across all our categories. You will see some more detail in the War Room update below. • You said “We don’t have cisco in every branch”. We did ensure cisco is now in every branch and with the technology we introduced the buddy call groups, along with it a new bonus to support. Better for our customers and giving greater earning potential for our teams, making October our lowest missed call rate ever. Our buddy groups have set us up for a smooth transition to our new contact management phone systems, rolling out across the UK and ROI. We’ll never miss a single customer call ever again!!!! • You said “Our prices are sometimes not competitive and the process to overstrike is time consuming”. We did introduce Instant Price Match for the first time. Meaning you can compete whilst you have the customers attention and also capture competitor prices at the same time. Win win.

We’ve already had two colleagues benefit from the scheme in November.

Hi, I’m Anthony, I joined LKQ Euro Car parts in October as an Account Manager. I hail from near Dungarvan. Father of three grown up kids, one a county hurler. It’s been great getting out to meet customers and getting great feedback from them which helps us improve what we do. The

support from my colleagues has been fantastic and I look forward to seeing these accounts grow in the future.

CELEBRATION! Congratulations to Sasha , our BM in Cavan. Not only has she successfully graduated with her Bachelor Degree in Business Enterprise and Community Development, she did it on the same day as her daughter. What an amazing achievement for both Sasha and Kalin #classof2023 Internal promotion

Conor Lawlor , Shane Coffey and Evan Moran have moved into SA roles. Cian McGuinness stepped up to the Sales Manager role, Luan Prates has moved into the DC role and Brian Belton has moved into an Account Manager role. Best of luck to you all in your new roles. Lots of colleagues have also celebrated service milestones: 5 years: David Fox - Kylemore, Aidan Kelly - Galway, Patrick Lynch - Santry, Diane Hay - Derry, Aidan McArdle - Boucher. 9 years: Richard Clinging - Castlereagh, Gareth Hill - Castlereagh, Owen McGonagle . 13 years: Scott McMullan - Castlereagh. Let’s get spending, just like the team in Pouladouff did for the local Ballyphelane Mens Shed supporting men’s mental health and the Waterford team supporting their local theatre group. We are not taking any new applications this close to end of year but make sure to have your applications ready for January 2024. Whether it’s supporting a youth club, tidy towns committee or a local homeless support charity or initiatives like the above make sure to get involved and be sure to share the details so we can highlight in our next colleague update. Scan the QR code for details of how to use the fund. Christmas Presents for Ukraine We are so proud to say that we have raised €2,185 to purchase Christmas presents for the children in Ukraine who have been displaced and impacted by the war. We appreciate things can be a little tight this time of year so to achieve this amount for others in need is fantastic. Thank you!

A whopping 42% of all positions filled in the last two months have been internal promotions. It is so encouraging that we can grow our business from within and hope to see much more succession across our Regions next year.

COMMUNITY

We have seen lots of activity in local communities over the last 2 months. Our Pouladouff team were the winners of a free lunch with the local radio station, Red FM. Our Team in Nenagh took part in Movember and have raised over €3,100, for mental health charities and to raise awareness for Men’s Mental Health. Well done team.

At LKQ Euro Car Parts we pride ourselves on building connections in our own community. Our Community Fund is a great way to give back. Each Branch has the opportunity to give €500/£500 to a deserving local initiative.

Christmas Festivities You will have seen we have once again had budget agreed to fund a Christmas/End of year outing for our teams. The budget is €40 per colleague who attends your outing of choice. Make sure to get as many of your team together as possible to celebrate your hard work through the year. Be sure to claim the cost correctly via the petty cash process. We are looking forward to our engagement action planning taking place in January 2024. War Room This is probably the first time many of us in Ireland will have come across the ‘War Room’ – so it feels like a good time to update the Network and share with you some of the great work that is being done on ‘our profile.’ The ‘War Room’ was put together in October this year – with some of the greatest minds in LKQ Euro Car Parts and Matt H!! The purpose of the War Room is to find a way to plug those gaps in our profile where we have no product listed – you all know the cars! We have split the work into three key areas of opportunity looking at: 1. Key products not available on cars in the ROI Carparc. 2. Products reviewed in Topcat by our Sales Teams that don’t actually get posted to the basket and sold. 3. Lost Sales Data – you will all be familiar with this one. The work being done through the ‘war room’ is designed to take our profile to the next level. We have reviewed the top three cars in Ireland at the moment, surprisingly none of an amazing response with 97% of our colleagues across Ireland having their say. This is an increase of 10% from our last survey.

IMPROVED SUPPORT - WIN MORE BUSINESS

our Sales Advisor roles. It’s an exciting time for Sales Advisors in our Business. We have really listened and made impactful changes to support the role of SA in our Branches. We reached out and spoke to a selection of PSA’s across each region. They told us what was going well, what we could improve on and what we could do differently to support them. We then proceeded to make changes where we could for the betterment of this team and the wider teams. You will see just some of what you said and we delivered above. IMPROVED FOCUS TRAINING PLANS which were in the top ten lines in the UK, highlighting even more the need for us to review our profile and offering in Ireland. We’ve reviewed over 700 product groups for these three cars and its fair to say we have quite a few gaps. You can expect to see a new product list early in the NewYear ensuring our customer offer is where it needs to be. We are already working on the next group of cars, so you can expect to see a continuous extension of your profile and improved availability going forward. Great work to those Branches who have so far completed Everest. We can already see it making a difference. The work you have been doing logging those all-important Lost Sales is being put to good use. From what you have provided we currently have 1200 sku’s under view by our Product Team. Keep logging all those lost sales just make sure we are using the correct code so we can use the data more efficiently. Donall Goldrick (Head of Category Ops) will be attending your BM Meetings in January to keep you updated on further progress with the actions from the war room.

COMING UP... Learning & Development

Pension/PRSA It looks like the government have pushed Pension Auto Enrolment out to the end of 2024. We know a pension scheme is a great way to future proof yourself for when you stop working and will be very beneficial once rolled out. If you are eager to start something sooner a PRSA (Personal Retirement Savings Account) might be perfect for you. If you want information on how you can set this up with Irish Life directly from your wages to avail of tax relief then please reach out to craig.byrne@hastings.ie who will answer any questions you might have.

We commenced our training and development plan for Branch Managers with our first sessions held over 2 days in October. We will be continuing this with a training session in each quarter through 2024 and will roll this out with our ABM population too.

HapiBenefits We are still working hard on bringing an improved benefits package to you. These things can take time but are hoping to share the updates with you in January. Insert image of logo. In the meantime, make sure you are using the correct platform to avail of discounts and money off with local retailers for all your Christmas shopping.
