Braking tips this winter
Winter brings a myriad of problems for motorists across the UK and Ireland from dangerous driving conditions to reduced braking performance. Checking the brake fluid and elements of the braking system are particularly important during winter.
Tell tale signs brakes need changing:
Modern vehicle will display a light to indicate an issue with the braking system.
Squeaking or grinding noise when braking.
Longer stopping distance.
Increase safety and profit Do you have a vehicle scheduled for maintenance that involves wheel removal? Why not check the brakes whilst you are there? This not only presents an opportunity for additional revenue for your workshop, but also adds value to your customers and contributes to their safety throughout the winter season.
Another way to increase safety and profit is checking a vehicle’s MOT history. Review past advisories for insight and check with the customer to see if the work has been carried out, if any recommendations are yet to be addressed, take the opportunity to get them booked in.
