WHAT IS TPMS? Tyre Pressure Monitoring Sensor (TPMS) is a system to monitor tyre pressure inside tyres. TPMS was introduced into European mass production during a phase-in period between 2012-2014. A TPMS sensor (OE) has a designed life of about 7 years or 100,000 km (60,000 miles). There are currently two types of TPMS systems: 1) Direct TPMS

2) Indirect TPMS This system uses the ABS sensor to approximate the tyre pressure and alert the consumer.

This system is made up of a sensor mounted inside the tyre transmitting data to the vehicle and showing warnings to the consumer.
