HYDRAULIC STEERING SYSTEM

Things to look out for when a customer enquires about a Hydraulic Steering Rack Help customers extend the lifespan of their power steering products:

Explain to our customers – When fitting a new hydraulic steering rack the customer needs to completely flush out the old fluid before adding the new

Hydraulic steering rack enquiry/order comes in

Explain to our customers – Failure to flush and replace will lead to contaminated fluid damaging hydraulic seals in the new rack

Upsell opportunity Has the customer ordered new fluid with the rack, ask if they need any?

Failure to do so will result in system failure and a high return rates to your branch

ELECTRIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM

If a customer fails to do this the remanufactured product will fail, adding to the high return rates.

Customers need to remove any fault codes caused by the previously failed EPS product, which may be embedded or stored in the vehicle ECU. A calibration needs to be performed during installation every time a replacement product is fitted.

Air suspension systems were fitted to vehicles in the premium sector from the late 1990s. Now air suspension is widely used on commercial and passenger car applications from a wide range of manufacturers.

YEARS 3 WARRANTY

Older cars and 4x4’s from the early 2000’s up to 2015 are losing residual value. Their current values do not warrant an OEM or premium brand replacement part.

The range includes everything required for repairs to the air suspension systems. Air springs, air struts, air compressors, valve blocks and fitting pipes. Complete, pre-assembled and ready to fit compressors with fitting cages. Starline has a range of plug and play air compressors which can be directly fitted to the vehicle. The air supply units on BMW and VAG applications comprise of the air compressor, valve block, pipes and fitting cage. STARLINE RANGE OVERVIEW Starline has over 200 references for air suspension available from stock. Covering practically all applications in the EU aftermarket. The range covers all fast-moving items and frequently replaced items for BMW, Mercedes, JLR and VAG. These have been developed as a quicker and safer alternative to changing a coil spring. COMPLETE COIL AND SUSPENSION STRUTS SPECIFICATIONS: COIL SPRINGS ■ Springs are manufactured using only high- quality spring steel 55CrSi ■ During development each spring is subject to a full life-cycle test up to 600.000 cycles ■ 100% coil spring compression test ■ Every batch receives a raw material tensile strength test ■ Analysis of salt spray test of surface coating. ■ There is no need to use a spring compressor ■ There is no need to worry about damaged top mount bearings when or after changing the spring ■ There is no need to worry about a worn shock absorber failing quickly after changing the coil spring. The complete coil strut comes ready assembled with shock, coil and top strut mounting including bearings, saving ever increasing labour costs and workshop time. The complete strut can be changed with limited tools and time. HELP CUSTOMERS PREPARE FOR WINTER With falling temperatures, the tailgate of a vehicle becomes more sluggish - the cause of this phenomenon is easily explained: in the cold, the gas in the gas spring contracts, the pressure inside is lower, and when opening the tailgate, the gas spring pushes out with a correspondingly lower force. When designing Stabilus products, these natural conditions are taken into account. Stabilus gas springs can perform their function over a temperature range of -30 ° C to 80 ° C, although the speed of movement can vary slightly.

BRANCH MANAG

December saw us hold our first Branch Manager Conference in 3 years. After numerous Covid delays, we finally got together for a packed agenda of business strategy, leadership insights, and suppliers. Over 500 colleagues, suppliers and partners gathered in one place felt really special. There was a lot to get through over the two days and product was one of the main focuses. Displays and seminars were held by many of leading suppliers – Pagid, Bosch, Schaeffler, Shell and Varta just to name a few.

We also had displays from our own exclusive brands, Starline had a huge stand and focus throughout as well as MPM, OPTIMAL, Eicher, ERA, Crosland and Vega. These stands focused on the range and products and what makes them so great for you to sell! There was a separate area for our solutions and services, a big emphasise on our Workshop Solutions and Bodyshop. The conference also saw the launch of our new concept 1TEC, which you will start to see in early 2023.
