Always recommend new fluid to the customers and encourage them to thoroughly read the instructions provided with the products. What you need to know When customers fit a new rack or pump, they must flush old fluid out with NEW fluid before fitting new rack or pump.

Returns and warranty rates are high due to garages not flushing the system and we need your help to educate our customers.

ELECTRIC POWER STEERING

All of our Electric Power Steering (EPS) racks are plug and play – a term that describes the simplicity that we bring to problem installations and in 95% of occasions, eliminates the need for programming of the remanufactured EPS product supplied. We aim to take the difficulty out of installing our EPS Steering products by making our products plug and play.

What you need to know When customers fit a new rack or pump, they must clear fault codes before fitting and switching on.

6 TOOLS HIGH-SPEED RATCHET FEATURES AND BENEFITS Last year, Milwaukee launched the M12 Fuel™ High-Speed Ratchets, with both a 1/4” and 3/8” bare tool version and the latter also being available in kit form. The new tools will complement the current range of ratchets in the range and provide an alternative product to end users, rather than a replacement.

As of March 2022 we will not sell this product to any customer without the appropriate certification. Customers need a certification? If your customer doesn’t have a F-gas certified installer, or they’re due a certification refresh, we offer the City & Guilds Level 3 Refrigerant Handling course via LKQ Academy. Remember, it’s a legal requirement to have one before carrying out any jobs with R134A gas.

TURBO TOP TIPS Turbos are going to be featured on the next edition of Service, Maintenance and Repair, so here are a few tips on why a Turbo has failed, so you can speak to your customers with confidence:

1. NOISY

2. LACK OF POWER ■ Check the filter, hoses and pipes are clean and in good condition ■ Check the fuel injection system is in good condition and correctly adjusted ■ Check the exhaust system, including catalyst and DPF, is not blocked or damaged.

3. EXCESSIVE

PERFORMANCE ■ Check the pipework and support brackets are not loose or damaged and the connections are good ■ Check for any leakages or cracks in the intercooler.

SMOKE OR OIL CONSUMPTION ■ Check the air filters are not restricted or blocked ■ Check the engine oil specifications strictly correspond to car manufacturer’s recommendations ■ Check the oil drain pipe is clean and not restricted ■ Check for excessive pressure in engine crankcase and correct function of engine breather system ■ Check the hoses and joints are in good condition ■ Check for lubrication problems in engine block if oil or carbon deposits are found on exhaust manifolds or in the turbine.

Double-clutch credit procedure Double-clutch kits are currently blocked from credit due to the nature of the product. Each kit contains a variety of components, each of which are essential to carry out the job successfully. However, there have been some occasions where kits have been returned with components missing that cannot be replaced individually, making the kit unstable to the next customer.

OE clutch products – Japan based Exedy are one of the world’s largest OE manual and automatic transmission manufacturers and are original equipment suppliers to every one of Japan’s car and truck makers. The company was founded in 1923 and the clutch manufacturing division is known throughout the world for supplying quality powertrain products. Did you know… When a diesel injector is remanufactured, part of the remanufacturing process is to run it on a test bench. This process ensures a quality tested product and generates the correction codes required to programme it to the vehicle. On Lucas remanufactured injectors, you must look for the programming code on the Lucas sticker rather than the etched code the injector would have had from new.

Bosch BX injectors have their codes rewritten on the top of the injector in the same manner as a brand-new injector.

Know your end digits Unlike most PGs where the ninth digit in the part number indicates brand, the ninth digit on diesel pumps and injectors indicates quality. 5 = Brand new unit. 12 months warranty
