Smarter climate protection – new compound for timing belts More and more brands are recognising the importance of incorporating sustainability practices into their operation with customers becoming increasingly conscious of environmental impacts Continental are on a mission to help fight climate change and protect the environment with a ‘less is more’ and ‘climate protection’ approach Introducing their brand new timing belt which combines optimised technical properties with a 50% reduction in CO2 emission The belt’s profile side is not made from the usual polychloroprene, but from a new and patented synthetic rubber compound offering a host of benefits for the environment and climate The actual raw materials used have a far lower global warming potential, while the new compound’s carbon footprint – from manufacture to the belt’s disposal – is around 50% smaller There are some appealing advantages on the technical side too, as the new timing belts enable higher levels of power transmission and also offer improved resistance to cold and heat Less is more – new packaging With 70% less packaging – not only will customers be helping to combat climate change, but they will also have more room on their shelves Previously, the individual components of these kits (belt, water pump, tensioner pulleys, etc ) were packed in separate boxes, which were then placed together in a large outer box In future, a specially folded cardboard insert will protect all components and keep them safely in place within the box without the need for individual packaging

Benefits include: • Uses less space – halves the amount of carboard needed • Helps the climate – 70% more kits will fit on one pallet • Reduces waste – although the material is recyclable, there will be less to dispose of

• Safer working environment – less clutter • Less CO2 = more satisfied customers

Where possible VEGE remanufactured diesel engines are offered in three dress levels: • Complete – an engine supplied with diesel pump and injectors • With injection – an engine supplied with diesel injectors • Bare – engine without diesel pump and injectors but complete in every other way
