HIGH OUTPUT BATTERY FEATURES AND BENEFITS
This summer, we will be launching the first high output batteries for the M12 tools range; these will be a new 2.5Ah and 5.0Ah. This launch is a huge step up in battery technology with batteries that provide the power needed for the higher draw tools, or that can provide some efficiency in size and weight.
Battery Electronics and Housing ■ High output batteries contain a new high-power processor, with better current handling, whilst still maintaining the M18 system compatibility ■ The pack itself has been re-designed to improve current flow and lower any temperature rises ■ They also come with a durable metal frame construction and shock responsive separators which help prevent failure from vibration or drops. Battery Range ■ The 3.0Ah pack is a slimline design, owing to the single pack of cells in the battery, which produce 50% more power and runs 50% cooler than the M18 2.0Ah standard RedLithium-Ion battery, as shown below, whilst delivery the same power as the M18 4.0Ah standard battery ■ The 5.5Ah battery has been designed to ensure ease of carriage, as it still comes in under 100 watt hours, whilst delivering more power than the standard M18 5.0Ah battery
Cell Technology ■ A key difference with the high output batteries is the cell size, with High Output batteries using a new 21700 cell, which has 46% more power than the cells used in Milwaukee standard batteries ■ These cells also run cooler and provide lower electrical resistance ■ This creates a battery that will run longer, means less trips to a charger and therefore increases productivity.
■ The 8.0Ah pack provides 60% more run time than a standard M18 5.0Ah battery and delivers a similar power to the M18 9.0Ah standard pack ■ The largest battery in the range is the 12.0Ah pack, designed to be used with particularly high draw tools, such as the new 1” Impact Wrench, Super Sawzall, Large Grinders, Table and large Cut Off Saws.
