HANDY TIPS WHEN IT COMES TO CHANGING OIL FILTERS
Oil filters should always be changed according to the vehicle manufacturers recommended service interval. Oil within the average engine has a capacity of 4.5 litres and is filtered approximately 240 times per hour while the car is running. LKQ Euro Car Parts only supply the highest quality of oil filters. All our filters comply with current block exemption regulation standards. Here are some useful dos and don’ts to bear in mind when fitting oil filters: Spin-on filters Do Remove the old oil filter sealing ring from the mounting face Ensure the mounting face on the engine is clean and free from any damage Make sure the centre threaded adapter is fitted correctly and undamaged Cartridge (paper element) filter Do Make sure the old seal has been removed from the groove in the filter housing

Don’t Re-use old sealing rings Fit damaged filters Overtighten the centre blot.

CARE
PRECISION
DON’T FORGET ABOUT THE FUEL FILTER
Both the petrol injection and diesel engine fuel systems incorporate fuel pump and injectors, which as precision machined components are very costly to repair or replace. It is clearly more cost effective to change these filters on a regular basis with the general rule of thumb being to change them every twelve months or 12,000 miles; whatever comes first. Petrol injection systems are particularly sensitive to dirty fuel, as the contaminants will cause serious wear of some of the components with the injection system. Diesel filters are also very important as they have to protect the fuel pump and injectors not only from abrasive particles but from droplets of water often found in diesel fuel. So, it could be costly for your customer if it’s forgotten.
CABIN FILTERS
Pollen filters These filters will protect the vehicle occupants from contaminants such as pollen and fine dust and also help protect the air conditioning system. Anti-bacteria filters In addition to the functions of the carbon filter, these filters will also neutralize Allergens and Bacteria. There are 3 different types of cabin filters that can be fitted depending on the customers requirement. Active carbon filters These also have the same function as pollen filters but in addition they will also separate foul smells and harmful gases such as Ozone, Smog, and exhaust gases.
