It Takes Two

Brake Clinic

I n 2001, there was a European legislation introduced called “R90” that all companies must conform to legally sell brake pads and discs to the general public. This same legislation is now being that we are working with our suppliers to ensure this legislation is adhered to. However, you do have a part to play. It will be illegal to sell discs as singles – irrelevant of whether a customer wants just the one disc. There are exceptions to the rule where handed discs should be supplied individually, but these references are few and far between and should still be sold as an axle set (e.g. 104110898 LH disc should be sold with 104110908 RH disc). We are looking at developing applied to brake discs in 2016. Rest assured

2. By fitting one disc, this will cause an imbalance in the brake system and

contravenes best practice. 3. Point out to your customer that it will be illegal for you to sell individually from 2016

By starting now, you will be ready for the when the legislation comes

into effect (we will notify you closer to the time). This will help to keep your stock levels correct and avoid issues of having an imbalance of stock. If you have any queries, then please do not hesitate to contact Aaron Spencer on aaron.spencer@eurocarparts.com

something on K8 that prevents this. It is better to start getting into the habit now, so that you are fully prepared for the legislation when it lands by stating the following if asked for just one disc: 1. Brake discs should be sold as an axle and never individually.
