Brake Clinic Pagid/Textar Supersessions T here have been a lot of questions regarding supersessions from the network in recent weeks,
Supersessions are visible through K8 so you will see the following message
if you try to book out the Pagid 101 59 0348 (in this scenario):
so we have written an article illustrating what’s involved. Supersessions are placed against part numbers where the purchasing department have made a change based upon numerous factors. How does it work? The System will clear stock of the “Old” part number, before the “New” part numbers come into the profiling. This is to reduce the number of part numbers that are not selling and gathering dust. This in the long run, will reduce the number of excess stock that is held on a branch’s shelf and maintain a suitable profile for each individual branch, without clogging up space with redundant stock.
You need to supply the Textar reference. If you go through TopCat, you will see stock of the Textar, but not the Pagid:
This is down to the supersession chain. Never lose the sale, select the Textar part and sell it. You can see that the Textar part is actually cheaper than the Pagid version – this is because we wouldn’t want the customer to pay more for the part number that it is superseded to.
If you have any questions regarding supersessions please contact the braking PM team: Aaron Spencer: aaron.spencer@eurocarparts.com, Ehsan Arabalizadeh: ehsan@eurocarparts.com

Profiling Point Cheltenham Profile
REMEMBER! • If a part number doesn’t sell, the profiling of that part number will be removed. • Lost sales help branches with their profiling – please try to log ALL lost sales where possible. • VOR is only classed as demand when it is either sold, or a lost sale is logged. • You need 3 demands (a combination of a sale or a lost sale) within 12 months for the part number to automatically profile into the branch. • There are parameters in place which will find false demand! If you have any profiling requests for Engine Management Parts, get your Branch Manager or Operations Manager to contact Colin Downie: Cisco: 7005 – 011 colin.downie@eurocarparts.com
It turns out Cheltenham customers crave OEM supplier parts and now Cheltenham has been profiled with the following OEM parts: 10 new Ignition Coils, 14 new Engine Sensors, 6 new EGR Valves, 2 new Electric Fuel Pumps and 11 new Lambda/ DPF sensors! The additional stock profile was created using a mixture of fast moving part numbers that other similar sized branches have, lost sales and VOR demands. Colin is currently working on a few profile requests, but is keen to hear if branches require additional profiling. The request should come from the Branch Manager or Operations Manager. They need to inform the team approximately how many additional SKUs of each product group and/or brand the branch can accommodate.
O ur Engine Management guru has been a very busy man, Colin has been visiting branches and profiling them for products. Recently, Colin visited our friends at the Cheltenham branch, he spoke to various members of staff and discussed what their customers want and what they are buying.
Peter Grech’s Region
R ecently the Suspension Team started a profiling campaign on coil springs and shock absorbs targeting Sachs and Anschler. They saw a correlation between sales pattern and branch performance on the Anschler brand and looked to increase branch profiles especially on aftermarket items. Last week they contacted Peter Grech’s region – 11 branches. They discussed, with Branch Managers and Sales Managers, about their campaign and main objectives to improve branch performance level looking at competitors’ brands and pricing, ultimately strengthening our understanding of the market. Branch Managers were pleased with our action and the feedback was positive. The most popular brand in the area was Sachs (81%) followed by Anschler (16%) and KYB
(2%). With a huge potential on Anschler, the team needed to improve branch profile on the aftermarket brand coupled with an aggressive promotion. The team has increased regional profile with: • 236 part numbers on Anschler coil springs, going from a profiled average of 51% to an average of 83% (31% increase) for 80% of business share coverage • 300 part numbers on Anschler shock absorbers, going from a profiled average of 44% of business share coverage • 206 part numbers on Sachs coil springs, going from a profiled average of 67% to an average of 86% (19% increase) for 60% of business share coverage • 325 part numbers on Sachs shock absorbers, going from a profiled average of 53% to an to an average of 83% (39% increase) for 80%
average of 88% (35% increase) for 60% of business share coverage. Another topic of discussion was enlarging the portfolio with a “3rd” brand. Most of the Branch Managers suggested that KYB would be a good brand to have in stock, directly competing against Andrew Page. We can benefit from discussions with Branch Managers, there are new things that we can learn and there are many things that we can help on. Our cataloguing is good, but there is room for improvement and our colleagues are eager to help. If you have any profiling requests for suspension, get your Branch Manager or Operations Manager to contact Alex Fagaras: alex.fagaras@eurocarparts.com Cisco: 7001 – 130

standards, and comes with a 12 month warranty! When fitted, the vehicle will benefit from a sportier ride but retaining comfort and the flexibility of setting a desired height.
ASB Sensor Detector
Now in Stock!
A n ASB sealed bearing is fitted in the same way as a conventional type bearing. However, there are certain extra precautions that should be considered during the fitment: With 1st generation bearings, it is essential to fit the ASB seal the correct way: the bearing reference is always marked on the side which has the ASB encoded seal and must be fitted to the inner side of the vehicle. If unsure or to be certain, use an ASB detector card. The fitting of the bearing must be done with the correct tools for removal and replacement so that the encoded seal is not damaged. Storage and transport must also be sufficient, mishandling can cause damage to the seal and
incorrect function of the sensor. Being stored where there is a case of high magnetism can also damage the sensor. The ASB Detector Card allows quick and accurate identification of the ASB encoded seal and correct positioning relative to the sensor. The SNR ASB detector card is shaped to enable use on all types of ASB equipped bearings. Part number – 628 77 0020

Klarius VOR Ordering
In April we rolled Klarius VOR Ordering out to all branches, as a refresh, please absorb the below. Klarius Exhaust VOR orders have moved away from the NDC to Klarius direct. There are two main reasons for this: 1. The volume of exhaust VOR’s received by the NDC are at such a massive level that the NDC is struggling to cope 2. The NDC is extremely short of space. As Klarius already deliver stock
orders to the branch network on a daily basis, it makes sense for them to deliver your VOR’s direct as well. This means that you will have to place VOR orders directly with Klarius through the SOP screen. The process is simple but it does require a little effort to begin with. Start by checking stock on ECPedia. Then, once you have confirmed that the stock is available, go to the SOP screen on K8 to place the order. Details for both steps are available in the Operations area of ECPedia.
