Hybrid and Electric

By 2030, new petrol and diesel vehicles will stop being sold in the UK. It’s predicted by then there will be over 10 million hybrid and electric cars on the UK roads. This of course means more of these vehicles are being presented to vehicle workshops for repair or servicing. The systems used on these vehicles vary in operation and complexity. Engine and DPF Carbon Cleaning

With tighter MOT rules and limits linked to vehicle emissions, it’s vital that emission control devices such as catalysts and diesel particulate filters are functioning correctly. Why Carbon Cleaning? Trends show we’re keeping vehicles longer and looking to reduce cost of vehicle ownership. There are millions of vehicles on the road with DPFs. Up to 70% of clogged DPFs are unnecessarily scrapped, meaning you could be paying for a replacement when cleaning would restore the part to perfect working condition.

Wheel Alignment

Regular alignment checks are an essential part of a vehicle’s service maintenance schedule. Every day driving affects wheel alignment and over time, wheels can become misaligned. Poor road conditions, potholes, kerbing a vehicle and worn suspension components will also impact on a vehicles wheel alignment. Most sources recommend an alignment service every 10,000 miles, 1 to 3 years, with each new set of tyres or when replacing steering and suspension components. It only takes 10 minutes to perform a wheel alignment check and it’s estimated that 1 in 5 cars coming into a workshop will have an alignment issue and on average 1 in every 14 vehicles checked will highlight issues that will require additional parts and labour work to be carried out.

Air Conditioning

18 million vehicles have air con systems installed, and 95% of new registrations include it as standard. Air con checks and gas top ups are recommended to be done annually, allowing this to coincide with regular 12-month services and MOTs.
