CONTROL CABLES Control cables come in various makes, types and lengths according to the load required and the equipment involved. However, this is one area which is more standardised than most. For the majority of inboard engine applications, 330 prime (33C) cables are used. There are many makes, but generally, end fitting connections and cable travel are standard. 430 / 43C cables are less common, being more suited to larger vessels in the commercial sector. Outboard adaptor kits are shown on page 276. 330X PRIME CABLES (33C) • Unique design to maximise durability, precision and ease of operation in engine and gearbox control • Red coat cable incorporates a splined core which allows a close fit with the inner liner of the cable but minimises contact. This reduces friction and results in easier movement and minimises lost motion • Gives less backlash compared to other cables on the market • Designed to replace 33C control cables with 3/16” UNF end fittings • Fully tested and proven to perform in extreme conditions or in complex installations • Durability is tested by cycling the cables up to 1.3 million times, and all cables are lubricated and don’t require any maintenance • Includes double lip seals to keep out contaminants • Designed for use as marine engine throttle cables, gearbox shift control (not for manual gearboxes) and light clutch and pump control applications • Can be fitted to most outboard, outdrive and inboard engine / gearbox units. 430 SERIES CONTROL CABLES (43C) • For heavy duty applications including commercial • The heavy duty construction includes nylon coated inner core with specially formulated lubricant which is sealed for life with double lip seals • Stainless steel end fitting and cable wire • Standard rod 1/4” - 28 UNF threaded ends
