AV SERIES HATCH LIFTERS The AV hatch lifters are electromechanical products, especially designed for marine use on pleasure boats. They allow full or partial opening and closing of heavy engine hatches, peak tanks, hatch beams etc. By activating a switch, it is possible to lift the hatch to any desired position from closed to full open; an internal self locking mechanism will maintain the position preventing any accidental hatch closing. In case of a power failure an emergency device allows for manual opening. • According to load required the AV hatch lifter can be mounted individually or in twin cylinder installation for heavier loads. It is also possible to install more than two AV actuators in multiple applications. • Maximum load for single installations: 1200N (120kg – 265lbs). • Maximum load for dual installations: 2400N (240kg – 530lbs). • Maximum load is recommended not to be exceeded. • S/S telescopic ram for manual operation in case of emergency. • Circuit breaker to stop accidental overloading of the system & electronic stop at closed or full open position. • External diameter: 48mm (1.9"). • Current consumption in single installations: 10A at 12V, 5A at 24V. • Current consumption in dual installations: 20A at 12V, 10A at 24V. • IP 65 protection rated. • Speed: 25mm/sec with no load applied, 17mm/sec loaded. • AV 12V DC models are ignition protected UL1500 - ISO8846 approved.

The rear bracket allows a 125º oscillation range of the actuator.

Components • Hatch Lifter - 1 x Actuator for single installation (Fig.1) or 2 x Actuators for dual installation (Fig.2). External diameter: 48mm. Length in the closed position: 377mm (14.8”) + stroke. Max. oscillation range: 125°. • Voltage supply cable - 1.5m (5ft) is supplied. Warning: if a longer cable length is required, do not substitute the existing harness, but make a junction following the instructions supplied. • Control box (optional) - A control box is required when using more than one hatch lifter or when one touch operation is desired. 12V: 4-47714 and 24V: 4-47715 . • Switch (optional) - 1 x 3 way single pole momentary switch 4-47717. • Switch (optional) - for use with single ram & no control box: 8-28222. • Battery (optional) - see electrical section. Installation: The following equation will help you to calculate the maximum strength (Fmax) required from the hatch lifter to open your hatch, knowing the dimensions and weight of the hatch and the position of the mounting brackets. Fmax = P x L x X x K* 2 b a P = weight of the hatch in Newton c,a,b = dimensions in metres indicated in Fig.3 & Fig.4 L= hatch lifter length when in closed position
