Are your customers ready?

The basics What your customers can start doing today, to move their business forward.

Invest in training

First and foremost, technical training is essential to carry out work on modern vehicles. When a garage owner invests in technicians, it goes beyond improving their skills, it lays the groundwork for a successful business. Keeping the garage up-to-date with industry advancements helps retain existing customers and attract those from competitors who are not keeping pace.

Hybrid and Electric Vehicles Is your customer already EV trained?

When vehicle owners switch from ICE vehicles to EVs, around 50% of them decide to change the garage they use for maintenance and repairs. The main reason for this switch is a lack of awareness. These vehicle owners often assume that their current garage might not be equipped or knowledgeable enough to handle EVs, so

they look for a new one that explicitly states it can work on electric vehicles. Make sure your customer is aware of this and understands that it is their responsibility to ensure their customers are aware of their full service offering, especially during this transitional period.

Becoming an EV ready workshop

Workshops need to be ready to service and repair electric and hybrid vehicles. But why wait – electric vehicles are not only the future; they’re the present.

With millions of electric vehicles already on the road, the time to act is now.

1TEC Auto Hub – EV Prepared for the EVolution

Wherever a workshop is on their EV journey, 1TEC Auto Hub – EV is here to support. From basic training to a complete workshop package, we’re dedicated to helping workshops grow their business in an evolving and changing car parc.

10

Changing your approach to suit all customers Upselling

EVs require specialised tools and equipment. Whether you’ve got a customer that’s already trained in EV, currently training or contemplating training – make sure they know you can also support them with the tools and equipment they will require.

Safety best practice All electric vehicles boast unique features, but they share one common thread – a HV electrical system with currents exceeding 30 volts AC or 60 volts DC. Whenever electric vehicles are being repaired, special protective workwear and equipment must be used to disable or isolate the battery and perform work on these systems safely. Make sure your customer is kitted out with the right safety equipment through LKQ Euro Car Parts.
