The importance of offering the correct brake fluid

DOT 4 LV fluid in newer vehicles. Most new cars produced from 2016 onwards have ESP systems. ESP stands for electronic stability program, and it is mandatory requirement in many markets globally.

Like engine oil, brake fluid is also vehicle specific, putting the wrong fluid into the system can have damaging effects. This can lead to problems with the braking system, ultimately it could cause an accident on the road. Most workshops will think that by using DOT 4 they are covered; this couldn’t be further than the truth.

New to range A brand-new range of water pumps to replace Airtex

The Airtex range of water pumps that we have been selling have now been withdrawn from the market. Don’t fear though as we have some amazing replacements coming very soon. First up will be SIL (Saleri). These Italian made premium water pumps will be the first into stock that you can offer as an alternative to Airtex. Following on from SIL will be KWP, this range of premium pumps are OE and come with an excellent pedigree and meticulous standards. Expect to see KWP within your branch stock in the coming months.

This Premium Synthetic ‘Mid SAPS ‘engine oil is designed for gasoline and diesel engines equipped with an exhaust after-treatment system. This special formulation complies with the Stellantis FPW9.55535/03 specification, which is mandatory for DV5R engines up to OPR 16885 and for the EB2 Gen1 (2013-2019) 1.2L PureTech engines. These D5VR and EB2 engines are used in Citroen, DS, Peugeot, Fiat, Toyota, Opel and Vauxhall. Optimised cleanliness, reduces wear and increases the lifetime of the mechanical components & engine. This engine oil is also suitable for engines requiring the PSA B71 2290 specification with viscosity grade 5W-30.

Edge and Magnatec oils, what’s the difference? Castrol EDGE and Magnatec differ primarily in their technology and target application. EDGE is designed for high performance vehicles and focuses on reducing friction and increasing engine performance, particularly under pressure. Magnatec, on the other hand, emphasizes wear protection by clinging to critical engine parts like a magnet and locking in place, offering 50% better protection.

We’ve been adding to our MPM range of oils To keep our range of MPM products up to date, we’ve been adding in new sizes into our portfolio. Overall, we have added another 39 Skus to the range which breakdown as follows:

We’ve also been adjusting our pricing strategy

To make sure we have an aligned price strategy, our MPM oils have now been repositioned so that they are priced above Triple QX but sit below Shell so there is a clear differentiator between all our oil brands. Lastly, we have also launched MPM out to B2C customers to grow brand recognition.

Having the right oil to hand in the workshop can save time when servicing vehicles. Shell’s clever 20ltr Bag in a Box solution cuts down on disposable plastic waste by up to 80% compared to 20ltr plastic containers. We currently have eight oils in the range covering the fastest movers. These parts equate up to 76% car parc coverage, covering off vehicle manufacturers such as, VAG, Mercedes, BMW, Ford, JLR and PSA just to name a few.
