Standard Starter Motor

iStARS Belt starter alternator or Belt Starter Generator (BSG) is installed in place of an alternator. The combustion engine is started immediately and silently thanks to the belt that permanently links the system to the crankshaft.

Stop/Start called advance engagement have more power than standard, also higher numbers of teeth to give faster rotation. Construction can be different twin solenoid or permanent engagement.

Standard starter for normal drive, can be built as direct drive (no gear reduction) and gear reductions.

Reman parts are expensive compared to IAM. Reman parts are rebuilt to OE specs and tested the same way; they are equal to OE, which means avoiding potential flaws of a re-engineered IAM parts.

What else have we done to improve our Starline range? Under the Starline brand, we have taken our electrical know-how in sensors, switches and batteries and implemented it into our rotating range. Valeo i-StARS

Valeo i-StARS has the capability to be used both micro-hybrids and mild-hybrids. By incorporating advanced electronics additional features have been added. The Valeo i-StARS (Integrated Starter Alternator Reversible System) is installed in place of an alternator. The combustion engine is started immediately and silently thanks to the belt that permanently links the system to the crankshaft. The alternator mode features a new technology that improves the electrical efficiency of the system. In addition, the external ECU from the original StARS system is now integrated into the rear of the unit thus improving the architecture of the vehicle and reducing the systems weight.

Immediately ready for operation: The exchange products are ready for installation and precisely matched to the corresponding application.

The Power of exchange In 2019 alone, Bosch saved 2,700 tons of different metals by remanufacturing starters and alternators – which equates to 7,400 tons of CO2 equivalent (CO2 e)*.
