INTAKE WATER FILTERS & STRAINERS

An intake water filter is an essential item for any boat engine, providing protection to the impeller pump by restricting the entry of debris into the raw water cooling circuit. We offer a wide range of quality intake strainers; both hull mounted and remote mounted in bronze, stainless steel or non metallic materials.

All fittings used for through hull applications must be correctly electrically bonded to ensure protection from electrolytic corrosion.

CR (DZR) Brass - CW602N standard. Designed to be used in harsh water applications and won’t deteriorate like a standard brass fitting would. Brass - CW614N and CW617N standard. Not recommended for sea water use. Please see tables on page 123 for material specifications. Bronze - CC491K standard. Suitable for below waterline through hull applications. Tough and corrosion resistant making it suitable for exposure to sea water. Stainless Steel 316 - Resistant to corrosion and suitable for exposure to sea water. Maintenance and replacement costs are lower.

BRASS REMOTE WATER STRAINERS (BRACKET MOUNTED) These Maestrini high capacity remote mount water strainers are constructed from brass with a stainless steel 316 filter basket which is easy to clean and can be accessed simply by removing the lid. Designed to be bracket mounted (bracket not included), through the side using the integral mounting lugs.
