In order to comply with the Boat Safety Scheme, CAV type filters must be fitted with an aluminium bowl and metal drain plug. If you have a glass bowl fitted, we can offer an aluminium bowl conversion kit. A separate metal bung is available if required. (Part number 302998 not supplied in kit).

SPIN-ON CONVERSION KIT FOR CAV FUEL FILTERS This spin-on fuel filter conversion kit is an ideal replacement for CAV type filters fitted to many engines. The head is to standard CAV type configuration, with the same mounting arrangement, four 1/2” UNF female ports and a bleed screw. It comes with a simple to change spin-on fuel filter element (one supplied in kit). Less mess, less frustration. This does not provide the Aquabloc® protection of the Racor spin on conversion units. Conversion kit is not supplied with any port fittings, adaptors or bungs. Please order these as required if you cannot use them from your old CAV type fuel filter installation.

TYPICAL FUEL POLISHING SYSTEM The daily build-up of condensation in a fuel tank can lead to fuel contamination through bacterial growth. Fuel contamination such as the “Diesel Bug” is a problem when it comes to storing diesel and is one of the most frequent reasons for breakdowns. Diesel Bug loves wet static fuel. Circulating fuel through a particle and water removing filter will help reduce the contaminants, prolonging fuel life and reducing the build-up of bacterial growth (leading to Diesel Bug). The simplest of fuel polishing systems involves taking the fuel from the tank, pumping it through a filter then returning it to the opposite side of the tank.
