first and second year. Likewise learning and teaching was online for my first year which was challenging as it was very hard not having been able to meet any of my lecturers or being able to socialise and create new friends. However, alongside many other students I was able to adapt to these changes and have really enjoyed my time at university making the most out of a unique situation. Talk about working in the branch/your induction so far… My first few weeks at LKQ Euro Car Parts have been very exciting and busy and I have been able to meet many members of the finance team who have been nothing but welcoming and supportive towards my start at the company. Within my first week I was lucky enough to take a tour of T1 as well as T2 which was so fascinating to see in action and as well as this I even visited the Kings Norton branch which was great to see a further insight into branch operations. I spent my second week working in the Brierly Hill branch where I got involved in day-to- day operations such as working alongside admin to get an insight into banking processes, going out with drivers for dispatch and deliveries, dealing with credits, working on the retail shop floor much more. Tell us about a funny / memorable / proud work moment… I worked at B&Q for 3 years in a part time customer advisor role alongside my studies at sixth form and university. A proud work moment would have been where my colleague had called in sick thus, I fulfilled their role for the day in the cash office which was something that I had never done before therefore I learned on the job. As a result of supporting my colleague, my managers were very impressed and I was able to take up a new skill as well as having been able to support my company. Tell us what you’re most looking forward to this year! I am most looking forwards to finding where my passion lies in finance as this year will allow me to understand what I enjoy the most about finance and where my strengths are thus this is a huge steppingstone for my future career. And finally, tell us something interesting about you… Something interesting about me is that I am a social butterfly, I enjoy any activities which allow me to meet up with friends and family - especially going out for and trying new restaurants as I am a massive foodie. I also enjoy going to the gym in my spare time and I am a massive dog-lover. I have a German Shepherd named Bruno who is a pain to walk: may I add as he weighs up to 50kg!

Name: Gurlyn Sandhu Hometown/location: Wolverhampton Job role and business area: The role that I will be working in is within the finance department as a finance assistant for the branch network. The role itself is for 12 months and is a part of my placement year which is my third year of studies within my degree. I will be working closely with Emma Antley - who is my mentor - as well as Sheilesh Patel during my journey at LKQ Euro Car Parts. Tell us about your school/uni history: I attended sixth form from 2018-2020 and studied Economics, Business and History at A level however due to the Covid-19 pandemic I was unable to take my exams thus my final result was based upon my performance across the 2 years of studying towards the courses. Teaching and content were all moved online for the remaining few months of the academic year which was difficult to adjust to having never experienced this type of transition before, however, despite the difficult circumstances I achieved AAB which I am very proud and grateful to have accomplished. I then started university studying Economics and Management at Aston University and achieved a strong 2;1 grade within
