INA Timing Belt and FEAD (Front End Auxiliary Drive) belt system training

We often hear from vehicle Technicians that they have not undertaken, or even been offered, any updated training for Timing belt and FEAD drive systems since their initial mechanical training. Often commenting that they don’t really need additional training, they also think that because they have been working on these systems without issue for years, they know everything there is to know about belt drive systems. It’s a fair comment, and they may have had no issues… yet. However, there have been some real major technological developments made to belt systems over the last ten years, and on the face of it, information regarding these advances is still very thin on the ground. So, it is important not to forget, if you think your knowledge is up to date, then you won’t go looking for more information until something goes wrong…

Motive Components Ltd was formed in 1981, for the past 20 years Motive has supplied LKQ Euro Car Parts with engine components in the Motive and Autopumps brand names. Motive’s main product groups are related to engine timing and sealing and include camshafts, hydraulic lifters (tappets), rocker arms, valves, timing chain kits, VVT gears, solenoids and Motive engine gaskets. Oil pumps are supplied in the Autopumps brand. Additionally, Motive offer various other engine parts e.g. cylinder heads, pistons, piston ring sets, engine bearings, engine sensors, sump pans etc.
